Frequently Asked Questions

What if my kids don’t behave?

Don’t worry—I’ve seen it all! The best photoshoots happen when the adults let me elicit the smiles and giggles. Don’t worry about whether your child is being polite or complying with me. I guarantee I’ll capture the moment! Read more about how to get your kids ready for your photoshoot.

Will we have enough time—or will it be too long for my kids to focus?

A full session lasts up to 90 minutes. That’s enough time for kids to take a break, have a little snack if they need, and for me to keep the session moving. The same goes for newborns. I schedule enough time with your family for your little one to take breaks, work through fussy times, and just be herself. Kids enjoying themselves and being enjoyed is my approach to photographing children.

What should we wear?

You probably don’t need to go out and buy new outfits. You should choose clothing that your family will feel comfortable in. Consider the season and the weather: happy kids in coats make for a better experience than shivering kiddos in a cute top. Don’t put young children in new shoes—the new fit might distract your children from enjoying themselves during our time together.

Where should we have our photoshoot?

Well, I’d say, where are you the most “you”? Maybe it’s at your home, or in your element in your neighborhood or favorite park. I personally love the unique character and texture that each of St. Louis’ neighborhoods has to offer. Read more about my favorite photoshoot locations.
